INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS)
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a system to evaluate competency in the English language. It is accepted in the majorioty of academic institutions in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa and in a growing number of institutions in the United States, in addition to a large number of professional colleges.
A characteristic of the exam is the presentation of a variety of accents and writing styles in the materials in order to minimise linguistic bias. The
exam focuses on “International English”, which includes British English, American English and other varieties of the English language.
The exam evaluates four language skills: speaking, reading, listening and writing. Candidates may choose the academic or the general module in accordance with their needs.
