ENGLISH SUMMER COURSES 2008 - LONDON - ENGLAND - BALANCE
As in previous years, our English summer courses 2008 were a resounding success. The students really enjoyed themselves and took advantage of the small class size and the school’s excellent facilities: computers with broadband Internet access, giant projection screen for films, sports facilities, etc.
For many students, this was their third, and even fourth, English summer course with Dixon Formación. Of course, for many others this was their first visit to England. Their comments about the courses, the trips and their experiences with their English host families were very positive. For all the students it was an extremely rewarding experience and many of them were surprised to discover how much they had progressed in their mastery of the English language. Some even went as far as to say they had learnt more during the three-week course than during a whole academic year at their respective schools. As usual, during this year’s courses we had great fun visiting three of London’s most emblematic museums. During these excursions, the students carried out a series of activities that enabled them to find out about art and history in an enjoyable, informal manner. Nevertheless, the most popular excursions were those that included the city's most famous monuments, as well as the shopping trips and the visits to the musicals "Blood Brothers" and "Stomp".
For summer 2009 we have introduced a series of interesting innovations to our programme, including the transfer of our English courses in London to Whitgift School, located in a 20-hectare park and equipped with its own gymnasium and indoor swimming pool.
Additionally, and at the request of our more "veteran" students, we are organising a new English course in Bristol. Our new course will take place at Saint-Ursula's School, which is equipped with magnificent installations and located in one of the city's most exclusive neighbourhoods.
