DIPLOMA DE ESPAÑOL COMO LENGUA EXTRANJERA (DELE)
The Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera or DELE is the Spanish
exam offered by the Instituto Cervantes in representation of the
Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. Its three levels correspond to B1 (Waystage), B2 (Vantage) and C2 (Mastery) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment.
Basic Level (B1) candidates should be able to:
- Understand and appropriately react to the everyday situations.
- Communicate their wants and needs in a basic manner.
Intermediate Level (B2) candidates should be able to:
- Use Spanish in everyday situations under normal communication circumstances that do not require specialist use of the
language.
Advanced Level (C2) candidates should be able to:
- Use Spanish in situations that require a deep knowledge of the
language and an understanding of cultural habits.
