DIPLOMA ELEMENTAR DE PORTUGUÊS LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA (DEPLE)
The Diploma Elementar de Português Língua Estrangeira or DEPLE is the fourth level of
Portuguese as a foreign language issued by the Instituto Camões. It corresponds to level B2 (Vantage) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment.
Diploma Elementar de Português Língua Estrangeira candidates should:
- Demonstrate a level of independence that allows them to interact in a variety of communication situations.
- Recognise linguistic-communicative mechanisms and use the main lexical and syntactic structures that will allow them to have greater flexibility in their use of the
language in unforeseeable situations.
- Use communication strategies and possess knowledge of registers and social conventions.
- Recognise and employ common idioms.
- Use Portuguese as a working language.
- Attend academic courses.
